Required Gear

If you were provided a kit, some of these items were provided to you, and some you’ll need to provide. You should always have these available for any deployment.  For public support events, shorts are allowed, but you should bring a change of clothes just in case.

  • Gear Bag
  • CERT ID (required for call-outs)
  • Helmet
  • Hi Vis – Vest
  • Dust Mask (N95)
  • Safety Goggles
  • Nitrile gloves (no latex)
  • Good work gloves
  • Good high support boots, comfortable shoes (absolutely no open-toe shoes allowed)
  • Good LED Flashlight (with extra batteries)
  • Bottled Water
  • Non-perishable Food

Items you should have

You really should have all of these items with you when you deploy.

  • Radio – While can provide some radios on deployments, we can’t supply everyone. We use the Tera TR-590 if you want to buy your own.
  • Small waist pack/pouch
  • Pen/Sharpie
  • Gas/water Wrench
  • Bug Spray
  • Small first aid kit (bandaids, 4×4’s, gauze rolls)
  • Multi-tool
  • Knife/Trauma Shears
  • Poncho
  • Whistle
  • Extra Pair of Socks

Items that are nice to have

These are items that are good to have to keep in a separate bag just in case.
